Botanic Name:Salvia Sclarea
Clary Sage has anticonvulsive, antidepressant, anti-phlogistic (reducing inflammation or fever), antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, and bactericidal properties. Clary Sage is an astringent that can be used on mouth sores and poured over skin wounds
Uses:Clary Sage essential oil is useful in treating acne, boils, dandruff, hair loss, inflamed conditions, oily skin and hair, ophthalmia (inflammation of the eye), ulcers, and wrinkles. It also improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, soothes muscle aches and pains, and relieves asthma, sore throat and whooping cough.
Clary Sage Safety & Interaction Information
Clary Sage Clary Sage is generally regarded as safe when taken in the recommended doses. Clary Sage essential oil is not intended for internal use. Safety in young children or those with severe liver or kidney disease is not known. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this herb. Clary Sage oil should not be mixed with Alcohol, Prescription Narcotics, or Recreational Narcotics for Clary Sage oil may enhance the effect. It may induce a narcotic effect and exaggerate the effect.
